Verity (2026) Review
Audience Score: ★ 6.7/10
Verity (2026), the Colleen Hoover adaptation, is in theaters today — and it is already the most argued-about release of the week. Michael Showalter directs Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett in a mystery-thriller about Lowen Ashleigh, hired to ghostwrite for bestselling author Verity Crawford, who uncovers disturbing truths while living at the Crawford home. Early TMDB audience score: ★ 6.7/10 (19 votes).
The setup
The 117-minute film leans on its two leads: Hathaway (reportedly near-dialogue-free in key stretches) and Johnson. The cast rounds out with Brady Wagner and Ismael Cruz Córdova.
The takeaway
Book adaptations live or die on whether they honor the source — early chatter says the performances carry it even where critics split. Capsule compiled from TMDB metadata and early audience scores.
