East of Eden (2026) Review
Audience Score: ★ 8.3/10
East of Eden (2026) premiered on Netflix this week, and early numbers are striking: ★ 8.3/10 on TMDB. The 7-episode drama from Zoe Kazan reframes Steinbeck through Cathy Ames — played by Florence Pugh — as a fiercely independent woman driving a rift between two brothers, in a saga spanning two generations. Christopher Abbott, Mike Faist, Hoon Lee and Ciarán Hinds co-star.
The setup
Set in the early 1900s, this limited series puts the story's most magnetic character at its center rather than copying the 1955 film — and early reviews single out Pugh's commanding turn.
The takeaway
Prestige literary TV with a genuinely fresh angle on a classic — the week's essential drama watch. Capsule compiled from TMDB metadata and early audience scores.
