A Deleted Post From 'Wednesday' Season 3 Has Fans Asking: Is This the End?

Netflix has closed the coffin on Wednesday season 3 — literally. The streamer confirmed this week that filming has officially wrapped on the third season, sharing the news with the message "The coffin is closed" alongside a photo of Jenna Ortega back as Wednesday Addams. But it is what happened after the announcement that has the fandom spiraling: a post from Ortega's longtime stunt double, Jenny Ayumi, that appeared to hint her time on the Netflix phenomenon had come to an end — and was then swiftly deleted.

Ayumi shared a pair of Instagram Stories following the wrap, including a photograph from the show's original production in Romania, with wording that read like a farewell. Then the first story disappeared. Netflix has not officially announced that season 3 will be the show's final season, so her comments cannot be treated as confirmation of a planned ending. But the deletion has only made the speculation louder — nothing fuels a rumor like a message someone tried to take back.

What season 3 has in store

Whenever it arrives — reports point to sometime in 2027 — season 3 is shaping up to be the show's most ambitious run yet. The season 2 finale left Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers) transformed into an Alpha werewolf, unable to turn back, with Wednesday, Uncle Fester and Thing setting out to find her. Netflix has teased a Paris-set detour, with Wednesday and Thing photographed riding a motorcycle past the Eiffel Tower, and filming took place across Dublin and Paris.

The cast is stacked. Eva Green joins as Aunt Ophelia, Morticia's long-missing sister, who was revealed alive in season 2 — having written "Wednesday Must Die" on a wall. Winona Ryder, Lena Headey, Andrew McCarthy, James Lance, Chris Sarandon and Noah Taylor join as well, alongside returning regulars Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Hunter Doohan, Joy Sunday, Joanna Lumley, Billie Piper and Fred Armisen.

Is the end near?

Ortega herself has said season 3 will dig into more confrontational feelings about family and adulthood, while showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar have promised a deeper dive into Addams family secrets. Whether that dive is the beginning of a new chapter or the start of a farewell remains unconfirmed. What is confirmed: Ortega is already booked for her next project, set to start shooting a film with Rose Byrne in November. The coffin may be closed on season 3 — but is it closed on Wednesday herself? Netflix is not saying. Yet.
