A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 2 Set Photos Reveal Coldmoat Castle and the Red Widow

TMDB

The Hedge Knight is heading to Coldmoat. New set photos from the second season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms have revealed the look of the season's central location — and confirmed one of the most beloved characters from George R.R. Martin's novellas is on her way to the screen.

The photos confirm the castle of Coldmoat, which was constructed at La Fortaleza de Ansite on Gran Canaria. The build went up in late April and has since been dismantled, but the images that leaked during construction give fans their first real sense of where Dunk and Egg's next adventure will unfold. Season 2 adapts The Sworn Sword, the second of Martin's Dunk and Egg novellas, and Coldmoat is where much of its drama plays out.

The Red Widow arrives

The biggest casting news tied to the photos is Lucy Boynton as Lady Rohanne Webber, better known to readers as the Red Widow. Rohanne is a fan favorite from the novellas — a sharp, formidable noblewoman whose marriage history earned her the fearsome nickname — and her introduction is one of the most anticipated moments of the upcoming season. Peter Mullan, meanwhile, will play Ser Eustace Osgrey, the aging knight whose land dispute drives much of the story.

Fans also got a look at Dunk's new shield design in the photos, and it closely matches the art from the Sworn Sword graphic novel adaptation — a detail that will delight the book readers who have been poring over every leak. It is the kind of fidelity to the source material that helped make the first season such a hit with longtime fans of the books.

Production on Season 2 wrapped in early August 2026, and HBO is currently eyeing a return in the first half of 2027. The network's confidence in the show was clear long before that: HBO renewed it back in November 2025, before the first season had even aired. That faith was rewarded when Season 1 premiered on January 18, 2026, averaging around 36 million viewers worldwide per episode and earning nine Emmy nominations.

With Coldmoat built, the Red Widow cast, and Dunk's shield ready, the countdown to the return of Westeros's most unlikely heroes has officially begun. Season 2 cannot arrive soon enough.
